New Challenges :: Steamy Couple's Boudoir!

Hello there, Monday. The warmer weather and hint of spring in the air has me ready for all sorts of change. We just moved last weekend, so “spring cleaning” is already taken care of in my house. So that leaves me open and ready for new challenges in the photography world!

You may have noticed, as have I, a rising trend in boudoir lately… It’s not just about the ladies anymore. Couple’s Boudoir is officially the next big thing.

At first, it may seem a little odd. But then you stop and think about it….you’re in love, you have an amazing (and super hot) partner, your partner thinks you are super hot too. You spend your date nights cuddling in bed, snuggling, on the couch, and holding each other tight. Maybe you’ve had professional photos done before of you as a couple or as a family, or maybe you’ve even had your own boudoir session with me, but you don’t have any photos of you and your smoking hot partner that really capture the passion you have for each other.

I admit, I was skeptical at first. Not because of the final product, because I think photos like this are totally amazing and I LOVE having photos of my husband and me together, just being us, and capturing how crazy we are for each other. I was skeptical at first because I wondered how it would impact my women-focused business and, truthfully, I wondered whether or not I would be any good at shooting it.

Actually, I’ve received inquiries for both couple’s boudoir and men’s boudoir (or as some say, Dudoir) for a while. But during my typical boudoir shoots, I really focus on making my subject comfortable and at ease, by being comfortable and at ease myself. When facing these inquiries, I wondered how MY nerves would handle this different situation.

I finally decided to take the plunge and try some couple’s boudoir. And I’m SO glad I did!

The love these two have for each other is obvious to everyone around them. When they look at each other it’s like everyone else in the room just melts away and they only see each other. And this is EXACTLY what I was hoping for in a couple’s boudoir session – for them to barely even know I’m there.

I’m loving this new challenge of photographing couples. I think it’s a great way to capture your love, your intimacy, and your passion for each other in a romantic set of photographs that will help steam things up when you look back at your photos.

I love the challenge of posing and communicating with not just one beautiful lady, but two people – two people who have their own dynamic with each other, and it’s up to me to capture that as they reveal it.

So bring it on warm weather, and bring on the steamy couple’s boudoir! I’m ready for more!
